Gradient and Glitter Pictorial

Good morning! (It's morning here anyways)

So, yesterday one of my photos got featured by a major fashion account on Instagram and made it to the popular page! I was sooo excited:) As I was reading through my comments, a lot of people were asking for a pictorial on the "Popular Page Nails" so here it is! It's my first tutorial so if I missed anything or you have any questions just ask. (You can comment on here, on Instagram, or email me at darcy.sparrow@live.com

 What you need:
1. The colors you want to use (The colors here are Orly "Liquid Vinyl," CG "Hanging In The Balance," and Orly "Miss Conduct")
2. Makeup sponge (dampen it with water)
3. Base coat and top coat
4. Glitter polish (I use "Essie Set In Stones")
5. Acetone
6. A good cleanup brush
7. Something to work on (like a paper towel)

Step 1: Apply your base coat. 1 or 2 coats should be good. It's really a personal preference. Let it dry completely.

Step 2: Start painting the polish in stripes onto the makeup sponge, overlapping the colors slightly, then lightly press it onto your nail. Work quickly, the colors dry fast.

Step 3: Keep repeating this process, moving the sponge up and down slightly each time you dab to blend the colors, until the polish is opaque. About three or four coats.

Step 4: Now the fun part;) Clean up! Of course you can avoid this step almost entirely by using tape to cover up the skin around your nail, (scotch tape, masking tape, painters tape, whatever) but I always forget. So now you get your brush, dip it in the acetone, and slowly and carefully brush the polish off around your cuticle. You might want to dab some of the acetone off the brush first, but sometimes you don't. This part really depends on personal preference.

Step 5: Once you're done with clean up, brush on a thin coat of whatever glitter you like, add a topcoat, and you're done!:)
 The finished product:
